Parent University

Recently, Coppell ISD hosted Parent University for community members, specifically parents, to learn about initiatives within the district and ways they can support their children at home.

Sessions included a Welcome/General Introduction with the Superintendent and opportunities hosted by district Curriculum Directors, Digital Learning Coaches, and local Community College Representatives, among others.

Within Article I: The New Digital Learning Environment of the Visioning Document, we recognize the need for district leaders to provide opportunities for public engagement related to digital learning and transformation.

1.i. School leaders, including board members, must work to bring the public into conversations that are needed not just to support these transformations but to help shape them and create ownership.

In addition to this one-time opportunity to engage with district staff members, parents are also encouraged to utilize social networking to stay aware of events, announcements, and highlights of the district.

In what ways is your district engaging the public in conversations related to school transformation?
