Within Article VI: A More Balanced and Reinvigorated State/Local Partnership of the Visioning Document, we read about how educating our youth is a state responsibility but a local function.

To this end, it is necessary to stay aware and stay connected with testimony and decisions happening in Austin that impact our schools.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Texas State Board of Education will occur in April, 2017.  For information related to this and other meetings (archived from the past as well upcoming in the future), visit the SBOE page on the TEA website.

For Texas State Senate News and to stay aware of what is happening today at the Capitol, visit http://www.senate.texas.gov/.  The Texas Senate is adjourned until Tuesday, February 21, 2017.
