In addition to the necessity to Stay Aware, Stay Connected, it is important that our districts, schools, administrators, educators, and learners tell their story – the story of great things happening in Texas Public Schools.
Recently, #TxEdTuesday was launched to encourage an organized means for our public education story to be shared and to reach the Facebook and Twitter feeds of our Texas Legislators.
Tell It, Tag It and Share It.
#TxEdTuesday is a social media campaign (on Twitter and Facebook) aimed at telling our story of great things happening in Texas public schools, promoting public education, encouraging and thanking legislators that support education, and showing support for bills that stand to positively impact teachers and students.
Include Pictures or Images
Pictures or images add interest to posts, so whenever possible be sure to include a peek into the story.
Tag People, Especially Legislators
Mention Legislators in the social media posts to draw their attention to your post. Check this list for specific Legislators to include: Texas House & Senate Social Media List (link)
Use the hashtag #TxEdTuesday
If it’s Tuesday, share the story using #TxEdTuesday.
Within Article VI: A More Balanced and Reinvigorated State/Local Partnership of the Visioning Document, we read about how educating our youth is a state responsibility but a local function.
