Book Review: The Growth Mindset Coach

As a teacher and a coach, I’m always looking for new and innovative ways to help my students and clients reach their full potential. That’s why I was so excited to read “The Growth Mindset Coach: A Teacher’s Month-by-Month Handbook for Empowering Students to Achieve by Annie Brock and Heather Hundley.

This book is a practical guide for anyone who wants to develop a growth mindset, whether you’re a teacher, a coach, a parent, or just someone who wants to improve your own thinking habits. The authors explain the difference between a fixed mindset (believing that your abilities are set in stone) and a growth mindset (believing that you can improve with effort and perseverance), and they provide a wealth of tips and strategies for developing a growth mindset in yourself and others.

One of the things I loved about this book is that it’s very hands-on. The authors provide a lot of activities and exercises that you can use to help your students or clients develop a growth mindset. For example, they suggest using “yet” statements to help students reframe their thinking (“I can’t do this…yet”) and they provide a “growth mindset journal” that students can use to reflect on their progress.

The book is also very practical in its approach. The authors provide a lot of real-world examples of how growth mindset thinking has helped people overcome challenges and achieve success. They also address common misconceptions about growth mindset thinking (such as the idea that it’s just about “positive thinking”) and provide strategies for dealing with setbacks and failures.

Overall, I highly recommend “The Growth Mindset Coach” to anyone who wants to help themselves or others develop a growth mindset. It’s a well-written, practical guide that’s full of great tips and strategies for developing a growth mindset in any situation. Whether you’re a teacher, a coach, a parent, or just someone who wants to improve your own thinking habits, this book is definitely worth reading.
